Fireside
Pizza
Located at the now Fireside Pizza Restaurant is one of oldest standing Fire Houses in Cincinnati, home to the original1870s Fire Company 16 headquarters.
In 1978, over a decade after its construction, a fire that began in the Marshall's quarters had engulfed the interior, resulting in the building being damaged and left vacant for decades to come. It wasn't until 40 years later that the old wood boards would be pryed off of the windows, allowing sunlight to grace the building's interiors once again.
In renovating the historic Fire House to become a pizza restaurant, Wright Design's approach was to be respectful of the buildings existing structure, not to be heavy-handed with the new work, but to simply let the history shine through.
Thank you to Fireside Pizza, Hardman Investment, Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation and Max Construction Group for making this preservation project possible.
